A review of an important study by the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH), on the global network of corporate control. The results are impressive: 737 corporations control 80% of the global corporate network, and 147, the "tight-nit" core, control 40%. The concentration of control is ten-fold greater than the wealth concentration, through cross-shareholding. In this short paper we review the main information and implications, particularly for the analysis of the power structure behind the present global financial crisis. (L.Dowbor)
